but it is not about programming at all. Actually, I wrote it at the beginning of this year. However, in German, so I didn’t bother with writing about it here. A few months ago, I finally hired someone to translate it into English as I didn’t want to do it myself. I love writing books but not translating them :-)
Anyways, the book is about how I figured out what actually drives me, what motivates me, gives me reasons to do things or to not do them. Things I wasn’t consciously aware off but which influenced me all the time - good and bad, coding or not. Finally, I understood why some shit happened the way it happened and why certain work-related things bothered me so much. It’s relieving and makes my life much simpler now.
But it was hard to get there and it was hard to sort out all that fluff and esoteric shit in the personal development sector. I can’t stand this passion shit, nor that you can tap yourself happily. So, you won’t get that from me. What you get are the four exercises which helped me the most in figuring that out. No fluff, no bloat. It’s a workbook though and you have to do the work to change something.
