Know what you want

Know what you want out of your life and career. It makes your decision making a lot easier. And your life simpler.

Like with the tool and customer topic from Friday. If your career goal is a quiet and comfy job where you can code all day long, you can ignore those things. If on the other hand, you want to level up your career or even build your own startup, you need to stop focussing on tools and start focussing on outcomes. Both are valid ways of life. There is no right or wrong. No matter what all the entrepreneur-gurus and the passion finder want to make you believe.

It is your life and you choose how you want to live it.

Don’t get paralyzed in the analysis. It’s ok when goals change too. Don’t fret endlessly about it. Take one and stick with it for a few years.

Now you have the best decision maker at hand and things like

Should I learn Spring Boot? Or Angular? Or Bulma? Or Vue? How about Docker? Should I go freelance? Can I raise my rates?

become way easier to answer.
