There are ways to bypass the standard hiring process. But, they do not work in the short term. If you need to jump ship fast, this will probably not work for you. However, if you have time, it might pay off better.
One way is to meet new people in your industries, dev, and non-dev alike, and build a relationship with them. Yep, care for the human being and their problems and try to help them. Good listening skills and the skill to ask good questions will definitely help. Over time, they will trust you and even come with problems and possible job opportunities to you. The easiest way to meet new people is to participate in local meetups. It might seem awkward talking to strangers at the beginning, it was for me - hey I am an introvert - but the advice helping me the most was “Everyone going to a meetup is looking for something”.
And it is true. It’s even making the connecting and helping out stuff much easier.
Go, give it a try.
And if you like to master it, host your own events :-)
