Probably the dream of almost every dev. Creating your own Saas and quitting your fucking job. Right?
Sure.
However, when we just jump in and start coding the thing we like and fine tune it to the ned over the next one or two years, we will end up with something that nobody wants and will not bring in any money. The same might happen if we spent less time building it. It is a hard truth. Extra hard for us devs. We just love building new stuff.
Before you write any code at all, think about who will buy it and why. What problem will your Saas actually solve?
Get an assumption here and then try to prove it wrong or right depending on how you want to see it. What are the smallest tests you can do to prove if people are willing to buy it?
The important part if buying. They need to be ready to hand over money. Likes on Hacker news or Product Hunt are worthless. The only thing that counts is if people hand you money or not. If not, you might need to adjust your audience or your offer or both.
So, think before you code.
